Michael James Keaton Biography

Sound.  All of life creates it. All of life feels its waves. And unless you’ve been living in a vacuum, it has been a vibrating intricate part of your life. Now comes Michael James Keaton to challenge your very feelings and perceptions of sound.

With his debut album “Thunder and Red Roses” Michael integrates all of the elements of his diverse talents to develop unique soundscapes to service original themes. While electronica is the central aspect of the sound it is not its main focus. He fuses his eclectic style with lyric and voice into a mix that transcends stylistic boundaries. Michael’s synthesis of ‘Musique Concrete,’ acousmatic, and electronic with instrumental, explodes into a futuristic palette of sounds, rhythms, and textures that are so dynamic and diverse that they can not be held to any single paradigm.

Michael’s musical journey is as unconventional as his music. Like many great artists he has no formal training. He was barely a teenager when he created his first sound lab at home by gathering sounds on a four track recorder. Guitars, drums, keyboards, and foot pedals along with anything else that made an interesting noise was liable to be added to his mix. He would chop it up, run it backwards, and turn it inside out, experimenting with sound in every which way and then mix it back together, creating epics of absolute sound. It was play and an important formative stage of his compositional techniques. As his musical journey matured, the construction kits became more sophisticated and the techniques more refined, but his love for the exploration of sound and the invention of music has remained the same.

Take part in this journey as Michael redefines what music is and emphasizes that it can be thought-provoking, heartfelt, inspirational,  and fun…………all at the same time.
